The celebration of Dussehra usually falls between the months of September and Ocotber. The Dussehra dates are determined by the lunar calendar that Hindus use.

In the legends of Dussehra, it is believed that Arjuna put his weapon in a certain tree and was able to retrieve it after a year. Since then, he worshipped his weapon and the tree.
