Happy Dussehra
Dussehra, popularly known as Dasara, Vijaya Dashami and Dashain, is a hindu holiday that commemorates the defeat of evil against good. It is an important festival in India and other country like Nepal and Bangladesh which marks Shukla Paksha or the 10th day of of Ashvin month of Hindu Calendar. During the Dussehra celebration, different customs, rituals and activities are held across the India. This including preparing Dussehra meals, parade of Goddess idols, dance performances and plays and more.

Dussehra is the day to celebrate the vicitory of Lord Rama against Ravana demon king. This is also a time for celebrating the defeat of darkness over evil. According the the legend of Ramayana, Lord Rama conquered and defeated King Ravana and saved his lovely wife Sita.

Activities on Dussehra Festival
There are many local celebrations in some areas in India that can last for up to 10 days. Local events include:
- Ramlila Performances – this play depicts the epic legend of Ramayana in Northern part of Inda.
- Goddess Idol Procession – people also decorate an elepahtn and mount an idol of deities like goddess Chamundeshwari and march it throughout the city of Karnataka.
- Blessings for Tools – Tools and equipments used to make a living are also worshipped during Dussehra.
- Dussehra Meals – women are preparing special Dussehra foods like Luchi and alur dom in the state of Bengali.
