Onam is the festival of Kerala. Although it is related to Hindu mythology all religions in Kerala celebrate Onam as it is the festival legend is connected to a king who ruled all kerala. The legend says that when Maveli was ruling the land there was no theft, famine,betrayel and not even sickness were there. There are lot of songs is there, that are connected to Onam Festival. These songs are commonly known as Onam Songs. Lot of vallam kali songs also considered as Onam songs. As this is the major festival of Kerala the shopping also will increase as people buy new furniture, new cloths, new ornaments. Similarly music houses are also releasing Onam songs every year
